Frequently Asked Questions

Does it detect irregular or AI-generated layouts?
No. This experiment slices an evenly spaced grid using rows, columns, outer margin and cell gap. It cannot reconstruct missing pixels, fix changing anatomy or identify a character's feet. Alignment is based on visible pixel bounds.
Will trimming change frame dimensions or timing?
No. Transparent borders are removed before placing the visible content onto a canvas with the original cell dimensions. Fully empty cells remain as transparent frames. Original-position mode preserves intended movement.
Can I use the frames in Godot or Unity?
The ZIP contains ordinary PNG frames and manual import instructions. The JSON is our generic coordinate manifest, not a native Godot resource or Unity metadata file. Set up animation and texture filtering in your engine.
Does it remove white backgrounds?
No. Only fully transparent pixels are trimmed. Opaque white pixels are kept. Use the separate Remove Background tool first if needed.
What are the limits?
One static PNG, WebP or JPG up to 20 MB, 16 megapixels and 8192 pixels per side; at most 256 grid cells. Animated image inputs are not supported. Your source file stays in the browser.
